There is no higher duty of a Congress member than to support the Constitution. Since 1789, this is the oath that every Congress member takes:
”I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the Constitution of the United States.”
In the same way that I took an oath to defend my country in the mountains of Afghanistan, I will proudly take that oath to support the Constitution, to keep that promise and be transparent and diligent in every vote I take. I am also asking the 2nd district constituents to keep a check on me, as I intend to listen to their voices and concerns on each bill that comes to my desk for a vote.
